Kuwait's 47th International Book Fair commenced on Wednesday, bringing together 544 publishing houses and 31states, including 19 Arab and 12 foreign countries. The event which will be running till November 30, for this edition will welcome Jordan as a guest of honor.

Kuwaiti Minister of Information and Culture, Abdulrahman Badah Al Mutairi, highlighted the significance of this cultural event by Kuwait's National Council for Culture, Arts & Letters. He emphasized the fair as a vital cultural milestone showcasing Kuwait's rich history and its global cultural and humanitarian connections.

The minister also noted the increasing participation of prominent Arab and international publishing houses, which aim to foster cultural enrichment and promote knowledge sharing. He stressed the importance of inspiring younger generations to read, develop intellectual skills, and embrace critical and enlightened thinking.
